  • The great storm and flood of 1914 in Tokelau,

Below, and on each page, you will see a thumbnail image that represents the typed document someone had the presence of mind to compile. As of today, I do not know who the master crafts-person was, nor do I know from where the source document came. Because they are all typed in Samoan, I have taken the liberty to retype and then translate for those of us who cannot read or speak in our mother tongue. However, if you have the skill to read Samoan, simply select the document and you will be able to read it for yourself.

I would very much appreciate a cleaner version/translation if you find you have the time to do so, just send it to me via contact us. I thank you in advance on behalf of our family.

NOTE: Please understand that interpretation by online translation software is not 100% reliable and so there will no doubt be discrepancies.
Furthermore, the combination of Tokelaun and Samoan languages that the family spoke will lend a slightly different tone and/or intent to the words and phrases used.
